today is the start of the break, and I’m good to go.

I may have started the first semester of 2010-2011 a bit so-so (I guess?), but the ending turned out epic for some reason. It was a good thing a friend told me that I must love the finals week—and I did, for once (although I seem to think that I did not take the semester seriously, hahaha).
I know I’m going to share the same old stuff—ranging from such statements of “missing” somebody and whatnot during the break. In fact, I had a blast this semester; just leave out the bad things I did (and somehow experienced) during that period.
It’s a good thing I finished everything when it comes to subjects. But it’s much better that I enjoyed my first half of my junior year, regardless of all the achievements I made. I’m going to state the reasons why.
  • Because of photography (not to mention, my love of small talks with the new people), I got to meet awesome people around the campus. One of them is Joyce (yes, she has the same name as mine), an AB Economics frosh. She, together with her classmate Joel, was having a photo shoot for her group presentation—and since I was shooting my heart away for my photography class then, I tagged along with her group, who also brought cameras with them. Here are some of my shots of Joyce and Joel:
This is Joyce, posing as a forest nymph (or so I thought). Damn yeah, she's pretty!
Then, this is an another shot of Joyce, together with her classmate Joel. They may not be together in real life, but I like how they executed their "sweetness."
This last shot is the best one. All I can say is, AWESOME! Bagay sila, ano? HAHAHA.
There are also other awesome people I saw in campus, like the eagle mascot I saw at the walkway. HAHAHA. Check this out!
This is the eagle mascot, which I saw at the walkway one day. This guy was there to scare unsuspecting victims! HAHAHA.
On the contrary, I met some people through random conversations—like Arden, a sophomore from the faculty of engineering. He and his pals chanced on my package design1 plate I was working on and gushed over my renditions of Ryu, Snake, and Sudowoodo (click here for more info), while I waited for my adprac4 groupmates. Since his friends had to attend their volleyball class then, Arden (who was taking up social dance for his P.E. class on Wednesday mornings) sat around—and I started having a chat with him. We shared a lot of stuff, ranging from college life to fangirling woes (in my case, hahaha). HAHAHA—that’s how we became pals. :D
  • Having an “epic” moment doesn’t have to deal with the epicness of things. One perfect example of an “epic” moment was when my orgroom pals, Mikhail, Magoo, and Justin, and I were cleaning the orgroom last September 29, 2010, we got to see a lot of archived materials there—ranging from old test papers to cassette tapes (talk about vintage!) Here are some what I found:
Sir Crispin's videocassette. The movie was titled "The Family Man." Talk about vintage!
This is Lee Batula, circa 2006. He was sporting a Bruce Lee haircut then. HAHAHA. Sharing!
This is me, trying on a mask. It's a vanity shot after Mikhail, Justin, Magoo, and I cleaned the orgroom.
Another “epic” moment is when the whole block went to Nido Fortified Science Discovery Center for the Dawn of the Space Age gallery launching event. I know, I wasn’t that close to my blockmates, but we had a great time. (Not to mention, Ma’am Carrie, our adprac4 professor, was with us. How cool was that?) Here are some photos I grabbed from my classmates:
This is a shot of me and my classmate Mimi. Wala lang--it's for the sake of photobombing. HAHAHA.
This is a shot of me and my blockmates, having a blast. In this picture (with me, hahaha) are Thea, M.C., Mimi, Keisha, Ina, Myk, Fionna, Angela, Sef, Raniel, Tricia, Ronnie, Royce, Migui, and me. Ross was on the background, and there are still some faces hidden. HAHAHA. Cheers to 3ad-2!
  • The best thing about being a junior is when you enjoy what lies ahead of you. True enough, my batch is going to have a fashion show—so we’re in the process on planning on the big day. HAHAHA. Kidding aside, I enjoyed the first semester (in terms of academics) because I enjoyed every single plate I did—ranging from collaterals to life painting sketches. (Check out my newest plates here!)
Oh, well. I can say that my first semester of junior year was a whirlwind of emotions—and it was full of memories, both good and bad. But since I’m more of an optimist, I tend to remember the good ones. I’m not saying that this was the best semester I ever had, but I liked how it turned out.
Before I end this, I would like to show a photo I took last July 30, 2010. I know, I didn’t have classes then, but it was one of the most unforgettable days I ever had this semester (and in my college life, I guess).
This is a statement of what I really felt last July 30, 2010. In fact, this simple piece of paper gave me a boost of good vibes. :D
Okay, that’s all for today. Have a nice semestral break, dudes. TE AMO. ♥
P.S. For those who are still at school, keep calm and enjoy your school life. You'll still experience having a break no matter what happens. :)
